Giant geometric fresco
Ephemeral installation on the ground, public space, with radii of 1,618 meters: golden ratio as an invisible structure. Composed of fresh but unsaleable fruits and vegetables, from the local market, arranged according to the principles of sacred geometry (rosace, mandala). The radial chromatic organization often from white (center) to green (perifiny) is voluntary. participative collective creation with a lifespan of a few hours. The work gradually disappears through rain, passage, and the recovery of vegetables.
Intention:
– This vegetal fresco literally embodies the proportion that structures the universe. For a few hours, on an urban pavement, the sacred geometry of the cosmos becomes visible, edible, contemplative. By creating an active field of information in the urban space, sacred geometry acts as a wave form activating information in the invisible for those who pass, energy harmonization, reconnection to the universal code, appeasement. I like the idea of shared ritual, co-creation of the energy field.
– Honoring plant life: These vegetables, usually consumed without a second thought, become co-creators of sacred beauty. For once, they are contemplated, celebrated, and honored before being nourished. They joyfully participate in the sacred. Recognition of plant sensitivity. Mutual offering: we bestow upon them the dignity of art, they bestow beauty and presence upon us.
The flower of life is universal sacred geometry (ancient Egypt, Kabbalah, Buddhist temples) It contains the code of creation.
Ephemeral: the lifespan is very short. As the Tibetan mandalas, the work does not need to last, the imprint in the invisible persists after physical disappearance. One can speak of a shamanic act in the city, an offering, an urban acupuncture point, an act of collective reconnection.
The golden ratio is the universal proportion present everywhere in the living: Spirals of shells (nautilus), Arrangement of sunflower petals, Proportions of the human body (vitruvian man ), Tree branches, Double helix of DNA. In the cosmos: Spiral arms of galaxies, Planetary orbits, Mineral crystallizations, In sacred architecture: Pyramids of Giza, Greek Parthenon, Gothic cathedrals, Buddhist temples. In art: Leonardo da Vinci, Mondrian, Le Corbusier. Φ = 1.618…: an irrational, infinite number, never fully attainable. Like perfection itself—one can approach it, never reach it completely. Creating a mandala with the golden ratio is to participate in this universal harmony. Vegetables arranged according to Φ resonate with the profound geometry of life. This living mural literally embodies the proportion that structures the universe. For a few hours, on an urban pavement, the sacred geometry of the cosmos becomes visible, edible, contemplative.
