Christian Havet, born in 1959 in Cambrai, France, had his first solo exhibition in 1982 and became an architect at DESA (Dipl. Ing.) in 1984. He lives and works near Munich and Paris.
Til Schweiger, Heike Makatsch, and Sandra Maischberger, the French artist, are just a few of the many celebrities who have lent their voices to Christian Havet’s project « Healing Stars. » The French artist is now showing the video installation for the first time as part of his exhibition « Body – Soul – Spirit » in Berlin.
Three dimensions of being, three exhibition venues. He has chosen a dialysis center, a pharmacy, and a church for the presentation of his drawings, etchings, and the video installation.
These locations were not chosen at random, but are part of the exhibition concept, which connects each theme to a specific location. His works capture the state of our contemporary global world – in times of a current, omnipresent crisis.
Similar to how Beuys describes the artistic human being as the sculptor of the social organism, Christian Havet sees in creative work the possibility of healing our society. Art has a concrete energetic value, he says, adding that it also has a strong influence on social harmony in the world.
In doing so, Havet remains true to his conviction, following the experimental path of contemporary art, which presents us with an art-therapeutic dimension. In his work, his practice, and his worldview, he is an advocate for the harmony of body, soul, and spirit. He understands art as a reinforcement and stimulant for a way of being that allows everyone to live intensely and peacefully with humanity. This is particularly evident in his video installation, which he is showing at all three exhibition venues.
« There is still time for each of us to find a way to change life and the way we live. » The one who lets his heart speak, not his head, will win.»
