The Dream of Settling Down
At the Manufacture des Arts (17 Chemin des Viandes near the Roman Bridge), an interactive photographic exhibition is being held by Cimade (the Inter-Movement Committee for Evacuees) to raise awareness of the right to find shelter and settle down. Jean-Jacques Roche and Christian Havet, LDH activists, explain: « We must move from living together to doing together, and the exhibition aims to inspire people to ‘do together.' »
In the afternoon, visitors are invited to create their dream cabin through models and drawings.
For Christian Havet, « the cabin echoes the imagination of childhood, a desire to escape the adult world. The cabin is a symbol of freedom. » The exhibition is also intended to be an introspective and educational journey. The program includes a presentation of the « Photos of Cabins » exhibition, creative workshops, readings of Mahmoud Darwich’s poems by Serge Peauthe, and a presentation of the Maison Coopérative de Dieulefit and the Coop Lucette.
Until May 29, free admission from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
