Red Passion
Art in the All Saints Court Church
A bright red carpet leads to heaven, the Romanesque arches of the church hall are immersed in mist, ethereal sounds waft through the space. The painter Christian Havet presents an idiosyncratic show in the All Saints Court Church on Marstallplatz in the Residenz until August 13th.
The leitmotifs of the Parisian artist, who has lived in Munich for a year, are shapes, energy, and cubes with an organic structure. « Geometric shapes radiate energy, » says Havet. His interpretations are red. « Red is an energetic color, the color of passion and love, » explains the 41-year-old architect, who has been working as a freelance artist for ten years.
He effectively combines the images into a comprehensive visual experience for the senses. The church, illuminated by red light, and the dull, pulsating gongs provide an outstanding ambiance. Giant drops of blood are reminiscent of the ones emblazoned on the stone floor, labeled « Harmony » or « Injury. » « The atmosphere is impressive, a bit apocalyptic, » said Antoine Grassin, patron and French Consul General in Munich. He particularly liked the combination of visual and acoustic elements.
